How old were you when you flown on a plane for the first time?
Where did you go and how long was your flight. I was 32 when I flown for the first time. It was a 90 minute direct flight to Myrtle Beach. This was just 3 summers ago. After a greyhound bus trip being way to long I thought I will try flying. I am afraid of heights but grew to enjoy flying. I wanted to see who else flown for the first time later in life. My kids are like most of you they flown very young as children. I flown 4 times since 2007 vacation the longest flight being to California from the east coast. Next month again to DC.

LOL! My sister, just like you, is afraid of heights, it's funny that she took the job as air stewardess and she was been working in the same company for 9 years now. She has traveled to so many countries. Back to your question, my first flight was when I was 6..only for 45mins. I remembered looking for Carebears when I was flying above the clouds. LOL! Straight away I knew I LOVE flying. I want to be up there in the air looking down at those puffy white and sometimes pink clouds. Oh so lovely!! :) You should enjoy flying too! Next time, try going somewhere further :) Good luck!

I was in my mid-twenties; the flight was from Chicago to Peoria for business. The carrier was Ozark (that's Krazo spelled backwards), and the type of aircraft was a McDonnel Douglas DC-9 (short version). Flight time was perhaps 35 to 40 minutes. Their advertising slogan was "Go getters go Ozark!" It would have been the mid-1970s - the end of an era (the time of the jet-setters); in those days we didn't even have to go through metal detectors - flying was great! You just walked up to a counter, bought your ticket (no identification required, you just told them your name) and walked into the concourse to your gate. If you arrived at a hub, you could go wherever you wanted to in the airport without the hassle of long security lines - and all airports had observation decks where you could watch the planes land and take-off. Freedom was great... I highly recommend it.

Would you believe 52 years? I was horrified.I made a stop at the closest bar asked for a double Crown straight up.It was not as bad as I had envisioned.I didn't need the liquid courage on the trip back home.I still get small ''pangs of fear'' when the plane hits air pockets.I love flying.Less time traveling more time to visit. That first flight was 4 hour 15 mins. long.I was going to a funeral(I thought it was going to be my own! LOL

I was a few months old. My parents took me from Minneapolis to White Plains to see family and so they could see me. I've basically grown up with plane travel.

I was 4 1/2 years old. My family was moving from Israel to the United States, but we decided to spend a few days in Italy before we went to the United States. So we took a cruise from Israel to Italy, and then after our vacation in Italy, we took a plane from Italy to the U.S. I did not even have a concept of the fear of flying back then. I had a window seat and I could see some people on the ground and I enjoyed that. I still remember the minature chocolate bars that came with out meals. I thought they were so cute. I also remember of being in awe over the fold down lunch tray that was hanging from the seat before us.

I was 28. It was flight from Tulsa to Dallas en route to Orange County, CA. It was funny because when I boarded the plane, I wasn't sure how to find my seat. When we were served drinks, I didn't know how the tray table came down. The guy next to me helped me out and said that he could tell it was my first flight. LOL.
