Pregnancy travel questions-Is all inclusive worth it, what is the best preg month to travel, where did you go?
My husband said we could go to Hawaii when I got pregnant because when we were there for our honeymoon, we saw a TON of pregnant women. Now I am pregnant and I am ready to plan a trip. I am only 6 and 1/2 weeks so I am probably going to go in August-early Sept. I think Sept for less of a hurricane threat. I am re-thinking Hawaii because I am on the East coast of the US and that is a LONG flight. I want to go to the Caribbean. I have been to Aruba, Bahamas, Dominican Repub, Puerto Rico. I'd like to try something new. St John, USVI's, Turks and Caicos, etc. sound cool. All I want to do is lay on the beach & eat! So my questions are: Have you been pregnant and gone all inclusive? Is it worth it because we can't drink and I am sure that is a lot of the cost they factor into the all inclusive price. What locations do you recommend/have you been while pregnant? Curacao has a low hurricane threat-have you been there and do you like it? I hear it is identical to Aruba

We went to St. Thomas when I was 5 months pregnant. All inclusive is definitely worth it, otherwise just the food alone would cost a fortune. The weather was nice but I wouldn't go back to St. Thomas, the beach wasn't that great, and we were even at a 5 star resort. Congrats!

traveling during pregnancy is fine. i don't suggest going in your first trimester due to complications (not from travel but from natural complications)! need to be close to the doc!! also you are very tired in your first trimester and it may not be worth the trip if all you want to do is sleep! and i don't suggest getting too much sun. may be harmful to baby!! im not sure all inclusive is worth it unless it also includes shows and such!!

i used to live in stcroix (usvi) and st john was the most beautifl place.. love the food, the ppl and overall the beaches. I have been in hawaii and all the beaches in puerto rico and mexico and believe me none of them are nearly as amazing as the one in st john and at thomas. The ones in st croix are beautiful too but ppl is not as nice over there at all, so you might want to stick with the other two islands. well i dont think being pregnant is gonna stop you from doing anythign but drinking.. but i never drank and i enjoyed my time in the islands so much :) good luck and dont wait until you are too far along to go to in vacation

The best all inclusives I've ever gone to have all been in Varadaro, Cuba (we got upgraded to a suite both times I went when I was pregnant) but that won't work for you since you are in the US. I would avoid Jamaica and Costa Rica, but most other Caribbean destinations are pretty good. St. Thomas is amazing, but I don't know how many all inclusive resorts there are there and it's pretty pricey. They do factor in alcohol with the price, but also all other drinks and food so it's still worth it. Just make sure wherever you go to drink bottled water and don't have ice cubes - it's much worse for you to get food poisoning now than it was before. Where ever you go, I'm sure you'll love it. Just watch the belly in the direct sunlight.

Even though you can't drink, all your meals will be included. You shouldn't have much of a hurricane problem. Most hurricanes hit on the Atlantic side of the US. Remember, hurricanes develop east to west, instead of west to east like other storms. I think it is a great idea to take a trip. You won't be able to enjoy vacations in the same way once the baby comes...so live it up! :)

I'd go to Sandals all inclusive in St. Lucia!
