Where can I find affordable plane tickets to Miami?
I tried cheaptickets, expedia, sidestep and they are pretty high. I want to be there on these dates 6/29-7/1 Would it be cheaper if I were to flight out from Long Beach Airport (L.A., Ca), Burbank to Ft. Lauderdale instead of flying out from LAX to MIA? I want something under $300 for 1 person (me).

I agree, Southwest usually has cheaper air-fare. You could try worry free vacations or travelocity also.

Actually booking directly through the airline is probably your best bet. I fly almost 100 times a year and always book through those sites. I check sites like expedia.com or orbitz.com and see which airline has the cheapest fares, then I go to that airline's website and always get the exact same price. Plus those sites charge a "booking fee" (usually $5, sometimes more) so it's actually cheaper through the airline. Also - most of the "low-fare" airlines (Southwest Airlines, JetBlue, etc.) only list their fares on their own websites so check there also. However they're often no cheaper than other airlines. It might be looking into alternate airports such as Burbank or Ft. Lauderdale, often they're cheaper. But keep in mind that if you're not driving to the airport (if you're taking a taxi or shuttle) it might not save you that much money. Like if you're going to Miami, but you only save $20 flying into Ft Lauderdale, then you might spend more than $20 getting to Miami. Just something to keep in mind....

I think I got you a deal for around 300 USD. From LAX to FLL. Check out www.spiritair.com I searched many airlines including JetBlue and Southwest but they are all expensive... Spirit is a good airline and a very good value for money...
