How to get a part time job abroad?
Me and my boyfriend want to go abroad (possibly Hawaii) to live for a few months or longer, and get part time jobs out there to pay for food and accommodation....something like beach bar or restaurant. Is it sensible to just get a one way flight out there and find jobs once we get there?? Has any one ever done this? Any advice would be great!! thanks :)

Hawaii isn't "abroad" - it's part of the US. If I were you, I'd look into the unemployment figures for Hawaii - seems like I read somewhere that it's pretty high, which makes job prospects there pretty dim. As far as working in another country, every country has work visa laws. And most island nations, e.g. in the Caribbean, have plenty of people in the labor force to do menial jobs such as waitressing and bartending, so it probably wouldn't be very likely you could find a job doing that. You'd need to look into those visa laws for any country you're interested in. Part of getting a work visa sometimes entails traveling out of the host country periodically in order to renew the visa. [Family member worked in China and had to exit China at least once a year to get the visa renewed. I've heard the same applies to many other countries.]

Sorry. The maximum stay on a tourist visa is 90 days. You can NOT legally work in the United States while you are here on a tourist visa or Visa Waiver. In order to work here you would need a work visa, and an American company to sponsor you, and to qualify you would need an advanced college degree in a field in demand in the U.S. such as Medicine, or Engineering. Trades people do not qualify for work visas. We have a glut of bar tenders and waitresses already here.

Are you a US citizen? If not there is no way to get a job here. Even if you are, there are very few jobs here right now, and NOTHING in restaurants and bars as tourism is way down. You would need to bring at $5000 in order to survive long enough to start bringing in money. A studio or 1-bedroom is about $1000 with utilities (rent is not cheap). Anyone who actually lives here will tell you the same thing.
