Los Angeles, Santa Monica Traffic Hours ?
I'm heading to Westwood Village near Santa Monica and I was wondering about the traffic peak hours around this area (Wilshire Blvd, Santa Monica Blvd, etc)... Exemple, going to Venice or Ocean Park without getting stock for an hour or 2 in traffic... What about Weekends? I been to NYC and know about traffic, I'm just not that familiar with LA traffic. An aditional question would be, how long is Santa Monica to Laguna Beach (Using the 405 still) & Santa Monica to Santa Barbara ? (Is it much longer using Pacific Coast Hwy & 101 than all the way with the 101) I mean.. the view must be worth it? I will also need to leave to LAX airport for a flight at around 7h30am, What time should I leave from Westwood Village to get on the 405 - San Diego Fwy. I hope people got answers to all my questions! I would really appreciate. Thanks for the help!

Traffic is bad in that area just about all day. Be prepared. Weekends aren't as bad, except for Saturday evening around Westwood Village. SM to Laguna: 68 miles, 70 min.- 2.5 hours, depending on traffic. SM to SB: 93 miles via 101, 85 miles via hwy 1/PCH as far as Oxnard. It actually takes longer via PCH, but the views are worth it. Once again, it all depends on when you go. For a 7:30 AM flight, you should arrive by 6, so leave around 5:30. Traffic should be pretty light. Welcome.
