Why don't you just fly from LAX?

There are several airlines showing non-stop flights from LAX to Chicago O'Hare (ORD). It's just a short drive up the road from Long Beach, and you might even save a few $$$ on the price of a ticket.

I know a place to get airline tickets i tried it already and it displays flights from LGB to ORD at $1083. Here's the website:

JetBlue has a hub in LGB, have you tried them?

check all the routes for continental airlines, there is definitely a non stop

Try going to LAX and take American Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways or Alaska Airlines for sure those Airlines will take you from Los Angeles to Chicago International Airport with-out having to stop. If your husband is afraid of flying just tell him to calm down and tell him what's happening(e.g. If your about to take-off and you hear the engines roar just tell him it's the engines).

There is no nonstop service to Chicago O'Hare (or anywhere in the midwest for that matter) from Long Beach/LGB. You can see all the airlines serving LGB and where they fly here- http://www.longbeach.gov/airport/airline_travelers/default.asp You are going to have to make the trip up the I-405 to LAX or the trip down the I-405 to Orange County-John Wayne/SNA to find nonstop service. Service fom the west coast to Chicago is dominated by two carriers: American & United. Both Amerian & United offer nonstop Boeing 757 service from SNA to ORD as well as widebody 767 service from LAX to ORD. You might also try Southwest Airlines to Chicagos Midway/MDW airport instead of O'Hare. They have 5 nonstops a day from LAX to MDW. All their SNA service is direct (direct means same plane service with a stop enroute.) http://www.southwest.com Why is your husband "deathly afraid of flying'??? Does he have a serious phobia or is it a bad case of nerves? Have him go to this site and take their FREE online course- http://www.fearofflyinghelp.com You might also show him the airine safety records. Southwest has one of the best on the country and the world (even though they had a much publicized incident this winter). http://www.airsafe.com/airline.htm For the hubby- Fear of Flying Information Resources: http://www.airsafe.com/issues/fear.htm
