Can I extend my stopover on a flight? If so, how long for?
Hi, I am planning a trip back home to the UK from Buenos Aires this christmas and would like to know if I could fly through Brasil and on the way back, just delay my stopover in Brasil for a week to spend some time at the beach? Basic information I need is firstly, is it possible? Secondly, if it is possible how long can I stay for and how would I go about doing it/when? I think I will be flying with British Airways but may be flying with another airline. I appreciate anyone attempting to answer these questions or giving me any advice. Thanks

Restrictions on stopover length and the cost to extend the stopover are wholly dictated by the airline and the specific fare you're flying. You'll need to contact British Airways to find out whether it is possible and how much it will cost, as they are the only ones who can give you the answers to your questions.

You will be charged extra for the stop over, especially if it is longer than 24 hours. If you have not booked the flight yet, you may try to get creative and purchase separate tickets: UK to Brazil and then Brazil to Argentina. Check the cost with a stop-over on BA and then with the two separate tickets. Two tickets will definitely give you more flexibility.

This would not be a stopover, or a layover as it is more commonly called. You would be making two separate trips which makes the fare higher.
